I suggest, old reliable Tokyo Marui. Can't go wrong with a TM.

They offer the most now in electric form in their AK line. The combat machine series has been a top suggestion since they offer more choices. It's a shame that the krytac aeg's won't be out till may. That will be my future suggestion for someone starting out.
Okay, so are KWA's AKs another option, and could you elaborate more on the pros and cons of the CM series?

Also, I have a pretty high budget, so my options aren't that limited. Given my $300 gun budget, I've also looked at G&G's Raider series. I'd like something with a RIS preinstalled.

Even for primarily field play? Their FPS is in the high 200s, low 300s from what I understand.

FPS is a limit not a goal. TM's out distance others despite the lower fps.
It's the hop-up that gives you range. Most of my collection is under 350 fps.
An example: M3A1 is 304 fps and can hit a player at 250' consistently.

Wow. Okay great. I'll look into TM as well.

To remove nearly all pistol/(some) GBBR valve you can buy the crappy valve keys off evike (their casted so they strip easily). Or use a 1/16th flat head screw driver. Just remember your valve is the weaker metal (brass or brass coated) which is softer and will scrap the edges easily. The old rings I usually just tear out. A good device is using a cuticle finger tool.

Get your affairs in order, be sure to arrive early that day. Parking is literally a logistical nightmare.
