nice its def cool the learn abit how mods came about. im very interested in the mechanics and engineering aspect of airsoft. i hope to someday make a name in the hobby. i do have another question tho. could i buy a 96$ lancer tactical AEG for example and make it into something practical for regular skirmishing?? or atleast bb's going through it regularly.... im looking at jg and g&p after reading m4 reviews. i dont really care about having to upgrade things ut if im gunna tap it on something and the stock is gunna break off and treads are ruined to fix it for example. is G&G a good enough standard to upgrade. OH ALSO this is a big one. my girl like the hunting rifle look so could i get her a m16 aeg and get reel steal wood furniture for it??? ugh this sport is gunna kick my ass. i will not back down tho. not smoking is my goal.
Lancer tactical is all plastic body. Upper.receiver lower, barrel, stock tube. You're better off with g&g. As far as a "hunting rifle" look. I don't know of any wood furniture for an m16/m4. Look into an m14. They come in a variety of stocks. Including real wood and imitation wood (plastic with wood texture)

Keeper, that was me reaching out to you. Message contents were as follows:

Hi Keeper,

Awhile back, you had a custom shortened browning LMG that you used for
Buran this past year. A bit of talking with you led to the revelation that
you knew Killbucket, the guy who makes some custom minigun creations.

Awhile back, he was show casing his project of making a left hand feed for
the Stoner 63 platform as well as a snail magazine for it. Would you
happen to know if he completed this project and is he willing to produce
another one for a price.

Thanks for the help.

well they make wood furniture for reel steel m16\ar-15's, that wouldn't work on an airsoft version, if it was 1.1 scale or milspec or w\e?? although  i am good at wood working.. maybe ill attempt to make her a set. idk well be into r&m this weekend tho with my buddy red beard. i wanna check out that red jacket m4 i seen for a build i want to do.

Regarding Operation Bad Blood, I have more of a DMR set up that I built myself and I believe it is higher than 400fps with .25, would I be able to use it on semi only as suggested on the rules with 500 fps with .25 for bolt action and fixed semi weapons? My M4 has the capability for full auto however I never/rarely use it anyway. Thank you

So I live in Queens NY, I really didn't do much research into NY laws as I used to play paintball and never had an issues with that. That being said I got my first airsoft M1 replica on Ebay, and got it delivered. Only THEN did I realize the issues regarding airsoft in NY, on top of these bad news the airsoft toy I purchased was defective, the "firing pin?" that is supposed to push the pellets out is basically stuck halfway, so it doesn't retract all the way and consequently the only way I can even fire it is by loading the gun like a muzzle loader, in this case it fires. It will dry fire just fine. If I take the squeegee and push it back to allow pellets in, it doesnt stay. Im trying to explain as best I can, basically the chamber where the pellets are supposed to feed isn't operating the way it should "Retracts halfway back and forward, not allowing any pellets in instead of all the way back and forward" So my questions are as follows...

1. I plan to return the airsoft toy and get a refund, primarily because the of the malfunction/defectiveness, could the post office "USPS" confiscate my package and have me charged under this law!?

2. Exactly how serious would the penalties be? Will the NYPD be busting down my door or confiscating the gun at the post office and charging me?

3. Does the problem I have explained sound like something an amateur like myself might be able to fix by myself so that I don't have to return it?

And finally, does this end my Airsoft dreams entirely? Do I actually have to get out of New York City just to be able to enjoy airsoft IE: move?

Really would appreciate any feedback, this is definitely concerning me. I have no criminal record, never so much as smoked a joint, I am of age and not looking to suddenly wind up trying to keep away from "Big Bubba" in the tombs.

Best, Agrippa Maxentius

There shouldn't be a "pin" pushing BB's out of the gun? All airsoft guns work on pneumatics where a compressed spring pushes a piston which pushes air through a nozzle and that shoots the BB out of your gun.

That said, I'll answer your other questions.

1. No. The USPS is a Federal institution. As long as your gun has an orange tip (this is a Federal Commerce law) and does not contain anything unsafe to ship (ie. propane tank) they will not confiscate it. Just make sure you cover the box with plain postal approved wrapper and doesn't show it's an airsoft gun and you shouldn't have trouble at all.

I would use UPS or FedEx ground not USPS. It will be cheaper and less trouble.

2. No. The NYPD doesn't want to deal with it, unless you make them, like if you were reckless enough to walk into a mailing store with the airsoft gun visible outside of the box.

3. Hard to say. Maybe. There are hundreds of different brands and makes of airsoft gun and many work totally differently. For technical questions, you should post in the REPAIR SHOP section of this forum. Post detailed information about the make and model and photos of your issue to get things started. viewforum.php?f=47

Thanks so much for the prompt answers moondog! Yeah I am probably getting the term completely wrong on the defective piece, I think i'll just return it as the FPS was a mere 200 and I am reading here that you guys seem to have much faster stuff for only about 50-100$ more than I spent. I figure I should just go ahead and get one of the under 200 AEG's.

Yes you can buy from Amazon.

The police will confiscate any airsoft gun they see being handled in public in NYC because all toy guns that are not completely orange or yellow or red are illegal in NYC. Sucks I know. So always carry your gear in covered gun bags and do not play in NYC.
