Looking for further information on the ICS SIG 551 MRS

Post by Landser »

Hey guys,

I'm still fairly new to airsoft and I was looking into getting a SIG 551 MRS to replace my beaten up STG44. I have read and watched reviews on it but I am looking for more opinions on its performance and ease of use. I also want to know how easy it is to upgrade/repair, as my current HK G36KV is a pain to find parts for. Here is the link to the rifle: http://www.evike.com/products/39326/ Any help is greatly appreciated, and I can't wait to see you all across the battlefield.

I had a 552 and loved it but found parts to be uncommon.
You also need to be aware that they use Medium Type motors. They are the only AEGs i know of that use them.
Mags can also be harder to find and can be expensive as a result.

Do you know if the ICS 552 uses the same basic internal parts as the 551 MRS? If so, what parts should be upgraded from the stock parts?

Yes, Internally they are the same.
The 551 has a longer inner barrel.

Because it is an ICS I would leave the gun stock and run it until something breaks or wears out.
Slap an optic on it and you should be good to go.
