Hi guys,
My CYMA 049 MP5 Blowback Airsoft Rifle recently started making a grinding sound.
http://www.airsplat.com/Items/ERM-CYMA-CM049.htm
What was going on before the problem:
Newb Mistake #8 (Dry Firing). I was inside and trying out the different settings and thought I'd do more damage with the BBs in.
I read a lot of articles and watched a lot of videos hoping I could solve the problem myself but to no avail.
What I've tried:
Charging the battery
Adjusting the pressure screw
Re-setting the gear box (that didn't go so well but I did manage to get the rifle back together)
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Any chance you can post a video of the "grinding sound?" It could simply be that your motor is out of alignment and needs to be adjusted.

Agreed.Moondog wrote:Any chance you can post a video of the "grinding sound?" It could simply be that your motor is out of alignment and needs to be adjusted.
Does it still fire? Or is it just making a grinding sound?
Which way did you adjust the screw on the pistol grip?
Did it still make the sound? did the sound get higher pitch when you screwed the screw out?

Re: CYMA 049 MP5 Blowback Airsoft Rifle
Seems it was an "all of the above".
I did need to reset the gear box but also needed to recharge the battery.
It still didn't fire when I put the battery back in but then the grinding felt like it moved down to the pistol grip.
I read your post and couldn't remember which way I had turned the pressure screw, so this time I completely took it out and started screwing it back in a half turn at a time until the sound went away and...
IT STARTED FIRING!!!!
Thanx guys!
