Best Shotgun under $100?

Post by Moondog »

So you want to buy a shotgun but don't have a $100?

I won't discuss high quality full-metal shotguns as they have their own threads. And they cost as much as an AEG (for good reason). My guess if you're reading this, you want to spend a lot less. So here are a few of them.

SINGLE SHOT
Unlike real shotguns, most budget airsoft shotguns only shoot one BB at a time. That's right. Sorry to disappoint you. But pumping is more ergonomic to reload than cocking a bolt, so you'll still out-fire your friends with springer pistols and rifles.

Cheap Toys < $15
You'll find the cheapest shotguns on sale at swapmeets, Ebay and on Evike for less than $15 and even less than $10. Avoid them, they are cheap toys. Shooting less than 200fps, they break easily.
CYMA M500

King of the Springers < $40
These shotguns are ABS plastic bodied but surprisingly well built and shoot very hard (380fps!) and many come with adjustable hop-up so you can hit targets as far away as an AEG could. Most are fed via detachable spring loaded magazines. Some of them have shotgun-shell shaped magazines.
Maruzen M1100 Clone
Matrix M500
Matrix SWAT M500
DE Maruzen Clone
SRC/TSD Retracting Stock 380fps

MULTI-SHOT
More expensive airsoft shotguns can shoot more than 1 BB when you pump and fire them. They are more expensive because each BB is actually fired out its own barrel and chamber. In effect you have 3 springer rifles in one gun body.

Budget 3-Shot < $70
These are the least expensive multi-shot capable shotguns. The FPS and range is less than that of the single-shot shotguns above because the power is divided into 3 individual inner barrels and each fires a BB.
DE Maruzen M3 Clone
UTG 3-shot
SRC/TSD 3-shot

Post your questions here about any budget shotgun. And feel free to chime in with your experiences with them.

I have the UTG Multishot. I love using it for CQB, at 75-100 ft it holds about an 8in grouping with .25's. When I bought they chrono'd it in shop with .20's and was getting 295-330 FPS. It is all plastic with exception of some internals, that being said it is a very solid gun for plastic. Pistol grip is solid, it's shell fed which is cool. Overall good gun, it's inexpensive, it shoots well and looks pretty good. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a shotgun under $100.

Sorry for the necropost, just thought I would put the info out there.

New links to some of those guns
Full size Heavy weight Maruzen Clone Everblast CQB Shotgun I have 2 of these in slightly different configuration and they shoot around 245 fps with .25g great accuracy and range because they have hop-ups. I lucked out and found the magazines for $1.50 a couple years ago and bought a bunch of them.

http://www.evike.com/tactical-3burst-airsoft-shotgun-p-29678.html I have also had a few of these full stock and collapsing. Its a great shotgun but don't drop it. The internals are plastic and I have had 2 break after a 3 foot fall. Still this is my go to shotgun for city style engagements.

Has anyone tried the g&p shotguns? I am looking into them and wonder how they are compared to others shotguns like the DE, utg, and the Matrix.

Also, does anyone know if the maruzen mags will work in the gun?

If you are getting shot at shoot back.

The G&P shotguns have full metal bodies unlike the DE/UTG models so should be more durable. Body parts have broken off my UTG just from it falling over while standing up on its stock. But they don't make a 3-shot version as far as I know and they shoot too hot for indoor indoor use.

Thanks for the info. I would probably use it outside because I do not live that close to an indoor airsoft place. The only thing that I did not like was that the g&p does not come with sights.
